Steel Bars

Overview

A structural component utilised as a tie is referred to as a tie bar, sometimes known as a tie rod. Only tensile loads can be supported by tie bars. The normal tie bar simply buckles when compressed because the typical tie bar’s length to cross-section ratio is often relatively high. A tie rod’s working strength is calculated by multiplying the minimum cross-sectional area of the bar by the permitted working stress.

In plastic injection molding machines with a medium or large weight, tie bars are frequently employed. The tie bars change how far the plate is inserted into the ring groove. Different components like tie bar nut and others together constitute a tie bar.

FAQs

Being one of the leading manufacturers of tie bar wing nuts, we have several new people who keep on enquiring about tie bar nuts to know more about them. Some of the most frequently asked questions are answered below

In tie bar injection molding, tie bars hold the platens straight and in place, supporting the mold in turn. The size of the mold that can be placed in the injection molding machine is constrained by the distance between the tie bars.

En19/4140 alloy steel with quench hardening is the material used to make tie bars.

At the midpoint of concrete slabs, tie bars are positioned so that they are perpendicular to the longitudinal joints. These can also be positioned directly in the gap between an edge joint and a curb or shoulder.

Tie clips and slide bars are the two most popular types of tie bars. The tie clip may open and close thanks to a hinge. The slide bars are made of a solid metal plate that slips into place.

Tie bars, which are steel bars that have been bent and coated with epoxy, are frequently positioned midway across longitudinal joints. By keeping the faces of abutting slabs in touch, they are made to avoid lane separation, and differential deflection, and reduce transverse cracks.
